When it comes to love, people get disappointed when their dates don't meet their expectations and they don't see evidence that true love is coming. Out of disappointment or fear of being disappointed, they give up, never knowing what they missed. The key to the law of attraction is that once you are clear you desire something specific, you must commit to it for as long as it takes to manifest in your life.

6) No Challenges: Challenges are considered negative thoughts and are to be avoided. Besides, if you’ve theoretically already achieved your goal, there could not be any challenges. As Esther Hicks, has stated, “Once you have recognized that thinking of what you do not want only attracts more of what you do not want into your experience, controlling your thoughts will not be a difficult thing…” There are many goal-achieving benefits to acknowledging and planning for challenges that may arise. Unfortunately, a belief in a law of attraction does not allow for you to accomplish this.


Expect that the universe is more likely to give you things if you’re already grateful for what it has provided to you. Giving an asked-for birthday gift to someone and barely receiving a thank you, you’d likely avoid providing a second gift. On the other hand, you’d get excited about giving a repeat gift to someone who enthusiastically expressed their appreciation for your gift. Imagine the universe in the same way.
Hi Elizabeth~ I have read your book a few times and have one thing that I am confused by. I was in a relationship with someone a few months back, but life circumstances got in the way a bit. These life circumstances have changed now and I would like him back in my life. I think that there is much potential here, but do not feel that I know him well enough to know that he is “the one”. Should I focus my energy on manifesting him specifically? Or should I not focus on manifesting him since I am not 100% sure he is the right guy and just focus on manifesting a life partner? And we have not talked in a while, so I assume I should NOT contact him and just focus on myself and on the manifestation? Please advise. Thanks!!!

Well lately I have been looking at this LOA and I would love to try it. I have been very unfortunate with love and relationships for about a year now. It seem like everytime I get close with a guy, he leaves with no explanation. I get really attached and it hurts soo bad when they leave. And with this last guy I was with I have been having negative thoughts saying things like, “oh he wont stay”, and “What if he leaves like the rest?” Well it happened , but here’s the thing, I don’t know if it could be because of the negative thoughts or his ex. Let me explain what I mean. Well me and this guy that I would never thought I would have feelings for start becoming really good friends. He was attracted to me, but couldn’t date me because he was already in a relationship with his girlfriend of almost 2 years. A month later she have been talking to him about breaking up and finally she did. Then me and him start getting close. Everything was going great until his ex wanted to come back. Well he let her and now I’m left in the cold once again. I strongly believe the only reason she’s back in his life is because she found out about me and got upset. I don’t think she love him like she say she do, but I don’t know. I do see us being a great couple, but how can I get the LOA to work for me and him and she’s in the way?
And this shows you are on the right path, but all too often we twist it. We lament those people that share the same interests as us, or with whom we had those great conversations, didn’t ask for our number. We feel bummed when that date we thought would be so great, turned out to be not the best match. We think we are still not getting what we want, or there is still something ‘wrong’ with us.

The first thing to do when you feel that there is room for more love in your life is to fill your thoughts and actions with nothing but absolute love. By flooding your mind with feelings of positivity and love for yourself and those around you, your ability to love and be loved back can shine through to others. Here are some visualization exercises for love that you can consider too.
Being the only intender in your reality places a huge responsibility on your shoulders. You can give up control of your reality by thinking (intending) randomness and uncertainty, but you can never give up responsibility. You’re the sole creator in this universe. If you think about war, poverty, disease, etc., that’s exactly what you’ll manifest. If you think about peace, love, and joy, you’ll manifest that too. Your reality is exactly what you think it is. Whenever you think about anything, you summon its manifestation.
6) Use this time to grow in your ability to be more patient, more loving, more giving, more forgiving and more gentle and kind to yourself.  Get your ducks in a row, explore new hobbies and interests and keep on growing your current friendships.  Continue to work on all your mental and emotional blocks to love and, most importantly, continue to have faith that he or she is out there and that you can’t miss each other.
He is my soulmate. We speak the same love language. We have this amazing telepathic connection that freaks us both sometimes. We both have our quirks which we completely accept and adore. We never stop each other from being who we are, even if it means being selfish or demanding at times. Fortunately, we realize our mistakes and make amends immediately. This is the best relationship I have been in. I know I want to spend my life with this man.
 I remember a woman with a learning disability who kept talking her way into jobs that she then failed at until she finally rose to prominence in a cosmetics company. Every successful author has gone through a prolonged period of rejection after rejection. Many of the greatest Presidents have failed at previous endeavors or been defeated in previous campaigns. These include Grant, Lincoln and even Washington.
It is also important to remember to work on feeling better incrementally, and not trying to manifest things that are just too much of a stretch for our CURRENT vibration. For example, someone really struggling with money would probably not really feel it was possible to start making 10,000 a month in income, and to set that type of goal without already being able to feel that abundant right now, would result in lots of frustration, and the lack of results would just worsen the energy. It is also a good idea to put your focus on just feeling better overall, and not too much on specific manifestations. A lot can happen without specific focus when we just raise our vibration overall. You will notice cool things start to happen, and this will strengthen your trust in the process, which will make it easier to manifest specific things.

I originally came across this list when I was staring at some papers on a refrigerator owned by someone who was very successful – both personally and financially. My family and I had just spent the night as a guest in a great house in the suburbs of Boston. We were living life large as we played pool in the rec room, drank wine from the wine cellar, and enjoyed a dip in the hot tub. The problem was, neither of the couples in the house owned the property or the life we were pretending to have. You see, my friends were house sitting for the original owner and they had invited us to stay for the weekend.

The human mind is wired to do whatever it takes to avoid pain in the short term, and not necessarily in the long term. It’s part of our survival instinct. It’s built into our DNA, and is also the foundation of the fight or flight response. We are always looking to avoid pain in the short term. If we were trying to avoid pain in the long term, do you think the same person would keep smoking, keep over-eating, keep gambling, or even keep drinking alcohol? Of course they wouldn’t.
Just in case I haven’t made my point clearly enough, the attraction process is all about how we feel, so it is really good to get into the feelings that lie behind our desires, as much as we can. Think about what sort of feelings you want in your relationship. Are you after a sense of ease in interacting with this person, without any drama? Do you want someone who shares your same passions and interests? Then, visualize yourself in these encounters.
Good feelings lead to a good reality. Put on your favorite song, paint a picture, have fun with your pet, or think of someone or something that you love, something that makes you happy, and just shut your eyes and dwell on this. These can be called Frequency Shifters, so have a few up your sleeve. Different thoughts work for different situations, so think of a few now you can use later.

When it comes to interest in law of attraction, I would have to say the two things people are most trying to get is love or money, perhaps both at the same time. Relationships can be a tricky area of manifestation, not because it is inherently harder to attract them than other things, but because of all the ‘stuff’ we have built up over the years that lays heavy in our vibration. We have all sorts of beliefs that tell us we aren’t good enough. Our past failed romantic endeavors are etched into our minds, and we are convinced we can’t experience anything different. We worry we will never meet someone, or that we will have to settle for less than what we want.We stay in relationships that we know aren’t right for fear we won’t find something better.


So, if you have a big goal that you want to someday achieve, you have to start by giving it your energy and attention. Canfield recommends going a step further, and acting as if you are already where you one day want to be. That way, you are already embodying the success you want to have, and you will use the law of attraction to reach your goals more quickly.
2) Open to the mystery of life. You have no idea when or where that special person could walk into your life.  He or she could be someone you already know or met in the past.  They could be someone you’ll be meeting on your next business trip or vacation.  They could also be your next date’s brother or sister!  Your next Facebook friend or Twitter follower.  They could be someone you’ll be meeting at a coffee shop or at the train station while you wait for the next train.  The key here is to surrender all pre-conceived ideas and drop all your expectations of how, and with whom it is to happen and continue to focus on ‘what’ you want by being fully available and present in each and every moment. Don’t worry about the how! Say ‘Yes’ to your soulmate, and open to the mystery of life!

Start with a great haircut, neat nails, and well-shaped eyebrows (if eyes are the windows to the soul, eyebrows are the frames). Invest in a tailor—and in a few no-fail items that will help you look pulled together: a crisp white shirt, a pencil skirt, a great-fitting shift dress (just add shoes and go!), a tissue-weight scarf, and the perfect jacket. Whether it's a black blazer with a structured shoulder and nipped-in waist or a little leather jacket that looks great over anything, the right jacket projects confidence. And isn't that what polished really means?
Rhonda Byrne published in 2006 the film The Secret wherein she emphasized thinking about what each person wants to obtain, but also to infuse the thought with the maximum possible amount of emotion. She claims the combination of thought and feeling is what attracts the desire.[27] The Secret says your subconscious mind can control everything that happens around you, including both positive experiences, like having someone call you from miles away, and negative experiences, like death. The Byrne underlines the power of the subconscious mind by asking the reader to take full control of these thoughts, in order to achieve things in life, with the mind, as much as with action. Another similar book is James Redfield's The Celestine Prophecy, which says reality can be manifested by man.[28] Man and the universe have a force of attraction between them similar to a magnetic attraction. The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy, says readers can achieve seemingly impossible goals by learning how to bring the mind itself under control. The Power by Rhonda Byrne, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle are similar. While personal testimonies claim the secret and the law to have worked for them, a number of skeptics have criticized Rhonda Byrne's film and book. One New York Times book review calls the secret pseudoscience and an "illusion of knowledge".[29]
Hi again, I just recently posted a question, well I thought of something else that I didn’t mention in my last question. See I am sort of confused a little with Letting Go part/the “being okay without him” part. The LOA states to visualize and feel your desire, like you already have what you want. Basically focusing on you is the major part of attracting a specific person, and of course being okay with not receiving what you want, letting go or detachment. If visualizing myself with my man makes me happy, if thinking about my man & I’s new relationship makes me happy, then that is okay to focus on? I’m confused as to how I’m suppose to do both, visualize and also let go at the same time..

Consciously shifting your thoughts is definitely the easier path, but when we first start working with LOA, this can be hard to do because our current belief system of having to take action, hustle and MAKE things happen, is still quite strong and we just can’t buy into this fully even if it resonates with us, and we know there is some truth to this method of bringing what we want into our life. Visualizing is a good tool for uncovering resistance, which is essentially all the reasons we tell ourselves we can’t have what we want, and getting into a good feeling space. One of the most important things is not to worry about getting super-specific. Don’t worry about figuring our what this person looks like, exactly what he is like, just try to get into the feelings. Trying to get too specific with the type of person can trigger a lot of resistance, and may even actually clog up the channels of receiving because you may get too attached to this person having to be a very specific way.
Finally, a Christian's life revolves around “grow[ing] in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). This teaches us that the abundant life is a continual process of learning, practicing, and maturing, as well as failing, recovering, adjusting, enduring, and overcoming, because, in our present state, “we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror” (1 Corinthians 13:12). One day we will see God face to face, and we will know Him completely as we will be known completely (1 Corinthians 13:12). We will no longer struggle with sin and doubt. This will be the ultimately fulfilled abundant life.
This freaks people out because they believe feeling happier now as a single person will cancel their 'order' with the Universe for a relationship. But don't worry... it doesn't work like that. Wanting and needing something to happen is not what brings it to you... trust me. Feeling the feelings that lie behind what you want now, and detaching from the idea this thing needs to happen for you to be happy, is what does -- much more quickly and easily.
4) No Plan: If the best way for me to achieve my goals is to live as if I’ve already achieved them, then there is no reason to make further plans to do so! Making plans shows the universe that you doubt its ability and lack faith. Doubt is negative and you will then attract more negative and not get your desired item. In the book The Secret, Jack Canfield proposed, “Our job is not to figure out the how.” “…trust that the Universe will figure out how to manifest it.” Studies show that this way of thinking results in greater short term satisfaction, but less motivation and lower chance of achieving goals. Curious that Jack Canfield’s website sells a program to teach you how to make an “Action Plan.”

You are certainly on the right track with what you are doing, and you are certainly lining yourself up for an amazing relationship. That is where a lot of people struggle with LOA in general, and relationships in particular–it can be really hard to feel okay with how things are now when we want them to be different. Feeling okay with being single and feeling that fulfillment with life in the absence of that other person can be a challenge, but it is necessary to let in a GOOD relationship.

No. 11: Finally and most importantly, believe in what you do. When things get tough, as they inevitably do, it helps to be doing something you feel is important.  What keeps me going is the belief that what I do makes a difference to others, and I’m fortunate that so many readers let me know I’ve made a difference to them. And that, in the end, may be the biggest reason of all for why I’m still here.
It also means that you need to increase your net worth by approximately $28,472.22 per month for the next 36 months. That is most certainly a tall order. However, to the motivated person, anything is possible. But the purpose of the plan is to help you create that roadmap you’re going to need to move you from your present state to the intended target.
