I know this can sound like a tall order. We are so conditioned to basing how we feel on outside events. It is easy to feel good when something happens that gives us a reason to—cultivating warm, fuzzies in the absence (or what we perceive to be the absence) of something to be happy about can take a bit of work. Feeling good even if things happen that you don’t like can take some practice. Living reactively will really put a damper on the attraction process, and it is a habit that needs to be addressed.
The thing that's grand about spending your time thinking about the universe is that it makes you feel insignificant. I don't mean that in a bad way. If you understand that we've now discovered entire solar systems that contain planets similar to Earth, and that those are just the ones we know about, since most of the stars we've looked at are within about 300 light- years of Earth and the distance to the center of our galaxy is nearly 100 times that—then you realize that the laundry you've left undone and the dumb thing you said yesterday are about as significant as slime mold.
Thank you for your comments. Hard to be positive when talking about the LOA. It's focus on blaming is pervasive. I am a positive psychologist and have proposed a new way of looking at attraction called the Principle of Attraction. As a Principle, like tends to attract like. Positive thoughts, feelings, actions, and words often attracts positivity...but not always. It's not a law, it's a principle, based on positive and social psychology.
Enthusiasm. As former British prime minister Winston Churchill once said: “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” Despite all the bravado about being prepared to fail, the corporate world is very wary of failure today, however. Many people are unwilling to take major risks for fear of losing their jobs. As a result, genuinely “enthusiastic” people are fairly thin on the ground, which gives them a competitive advantage.
2) A Wealth of Relationships (pg. 108-112): This is a valuable section on what to consider in inviting in wealth in all areas of your life. What I also find enjoyable is that the concept of love is mentioned in this portion, and the reasons for embracing, giving, and receiving love in all types of relationships, and the reminder that love starts with the self.
We could go back and forth for years about this since your beliefs are based on faith and mine are based on proven effectiveness. You have faith in a system that sometimes seems to work for you and when it doesn't you adapt your thinking to say, this is obviously good for me and that's why I'm attracting it. I would rather make my list of goals based on my values and principles and attain them in an inspired (by a more complete visualization method) in an action-based system where I am in control..
1) Metaphysical Pseudoscience: LOA proponents claim that it is based on scientific theory. It is at best, metaphysical pseudoscience with conclusions based on erroneous, unfounded, and often incorrect assumptions. Think about the strengths and energies that make you unique. When you were a child you thought to yourself “Wow, I am ME. Nobody else is me or can feel the feelings I feel. They’re mine alone. This energy is uniquely my energy.” Then, of course, the world trained you out of this way of seeing things. You wanted to be the same as everyone else (or at least, they wanted you to be the same). Breaking free and removing failure from your vocabulary allows you to follow your bliss with ease.
It’s important to understand that mindfulness isn’t about changing anything or trying to understand it. This is because the analytical and judgement aspects — our automatic reactions — are unhealthy and actually perpetuate the problem. It reinforces the connection in our brain between the action and the negative feeling. To release that connection, approach it without judgement. Let it be.
It's curious that people who believe in a LOA are critical of those who don't and believe them to be close-minded. I have presented a lot of new data such as the erroneous science and the data showing that acting as though you had already accomplished your goals was detrimental to you doing so. Yet, LOA proponents do not look at this with an open mind and reconsider their belief system. In this way LOA is akin to a faith-based religion, except that religious beliefs can't be disproven.
“I don’t see it manifesting” is where you’re going wrong. You’re focusing on what you see around you. Stop looking at your reality like it is and start seeing it how you want to be. So long as you focus on your reality, your thoughts are filled with your current reality, and that’s what you are creating – more evidence of not being with him. Simply put, you are not at one with your desire. You have to change your thoughts. You need to be able to relax and let go. You need to make sure you aren’t obsessing over things and trying to control the situation. You need to focus on raising your vibrational energy and doing things that make you feel joyful. 5. See the positive. Focus on the good things about the specific person you want the Law of Attraction to bring you. Look for something to appreciate. This can be tough if there are negative feelings between the two of you, and you might only be able to find one thing in the beginning, but if you keep working at it, it will get easier. If you’re in a relationship with the person already, you should start to see his/her behavior change and things start improving between the two of you.
As for losing faith in the Universe, that phrasing suggests you are applying ‘humanness’ to this force, and looking at it as something that makes decisions, rewards people,etc… It implies you are waiting for it to give you something. It is much more mechanical than that..it is neutral. It can only reflect back to us our predominant beliefs and feelings–it can’t deliver something because we are a good person, or are trying really hard,etc.. Think of it as a computer–input,output.
Personally, I believe there is no God, none whatsover, what is important is you, the way you treat yourself and the way you treat others. Religion throughout the ages has been a way to control the thoughts of the masses, to influence the thoughts of people and deny them of thinking for themselves. It has been and still is a way to make everyday people, not those who pull the strings, fight and kill one another. I may be wrong of course but no one knows for sure and if and when we do know it will be too late to tell anyone else because we are gone. Live for today, live your life to the full, love yourself and love your fellow man/woman regardless of creed, colour, belief system or otherwise.
While affirmations and visualizations are two of the most important tools at your disposal when working with the Law of Attraction, they are far from the only techniques that you can use to create the life you desire. For example, there are Law of Attraction exercises that specifically target negative feelings and help you work on dismissing them, and ways of stopping self-undermining thoughts before they can emerge and take hold. Meanwhile, there are ways to transform your living space to better reflect your goals and to inspire an optimistic mind set, and social methods that enhance your communication and help you to spread positivity wherever you go.

You are certainly on the right track with what you are doing, and you are certainly lining yourself up for an amazing relationship. That is where a lot of people struggle with LOA in general, and relationships in particular–it can be really hard to feel okay with how things are now when we want them to be different. Feeling okay with being single and feeling that fulfillment with life in the absence of that other person can be a challenge, but it is necessary to let in a GOOD relationship.
Ever notice how travel magazines show a beautiful destination, maybe a white sand beach and azure blue sky? And, there is always a table and empty chair. Your mind is attracted to the empty chair. It wants you to be there. Goals are the same. The law of attraction is energised by the gap between here and there. So long as it is bridgeable (see tip 21).
Imagine you’re having a dream. In that dream what exactly are YOU? Are YOU the physical dream character you identify with? No, of course not — that’s just your dream avatar. YOU are the dreamer. The entire dream occurs within your consciousness. All dream characters are projections of your dream thoughts, including your avatar. In fact, if you learn lucid dreaming, you can even switch avatars in your dream by possessing another character. In a lucid dream, you can do anything you believe you can.
So, while part of the secret to success lies in the principle of taking massive action on a daily basis, it also requires a shift in thinking. You have to look at pain in the long term as the driver, and not pain in the short term. When you can associate enough pain to the long term of not doing something than the pleasure of putting it off any longer, then the real magic can start to happen.
