It’s difficult to free yourself completely from doubt, fear or feeling as though you don’t deserve something. Your instinct might try to combat those feelings using negative thoughts like, “Don’t be afraid” or even direct conflicts like, “You deserve this.” Unfortunately, such methods are ineffective and simply don’t work because they reinforce negative thoughts and feelings.
Hi JG – I’m glad you’re enjoying my book on attracting a specific person! Detachment will come with time. Don’t worry so much about whether you’re doing things right. The Law of Attraction isn’t about perfection. Also, as I discuss in the book, focus on doing things that make you happy. It’ll be far more effective than trying to cover the doubts up with affirmations.
12) We’re Not Perfect: The LOA is a “perfect law” and should result in a “perfect” life. We are told that no goal is too big if you can think it; there is no such thing as an unrealistic goal. From The Secret “You can think your way to the perfect state of health, the perfect body, the perfect weight, and eternal youth. You can bring it into being, through your consistent thinking of perfection.” Reality check -life is not perfect. It can be great, fantastic, amazing, incredible, even optimal. But perfect? Won’t happen. What’s the problem with this way of thinking? Why not expect perfection? Fantasizing and striving for perfect makes you feel better in the short term but actually reduces your chance of attaining your goals and results in more unhappiness and blaming. If you are only going to be satisfied with perfect results – perfect health, perfect body, perfect family, perfect marriage, perfect friendships, perfect kids, perfect house, perfect job, perfect life; you are in for a perfect disappointment. Research studies support this.
I AGREE with you when you invite people not to be fooled but, not to be fooled by just believing the first guy who introduces himself as an expert when it is obviously just leading you to pay 299 for a magical LOA course so to go deeper in the study of it before dismissing totally a life changing knowledge. Yours are valuable tools to but there is no need to be general and discriminate 100% something that you have not fully experience yourself.
For one of a million reasons, we feel like we can’t be ourselves. We long to be. We just want to move through the world as we truly are, without the masks. This is especially true when it comes to relationships. If you asked someone to make a list of what he wanted in a partner, I imagine ‘loving me for who I am’ would near the top of anyone’s list, or at least anyone who wants a real, authentic relationship.

For example, students cram the night before a big exam or a paper that’s due because the pain of not doing it supersedes the pleasure of putting it off any longer. The same thing applies to taxes. Beat negativity. Understand that the road to success will not be unending, continual joy. There will be difficulties, setbacks, and moments where you question your commitment. These will occur whether you’re on the right path or the wrong path, so understand that while it might be hard sometimes, you’ll need to make an effort to re-establish and embrace that positivity you felt at the outset of your endeavor.[3]

"One can work toward manifesting positive outcomes; however, there are always these statements: 'I want this but not that. I want this and that, and I want this, but if I cannot have this, I will settle for this.' These types of thoughts bring forth convoluted requests and results. Using the modifiers 'not, but, and, as well as, either/or' muck things up. The energies that guide us and assist us take the request that was uttered or written and manifest things literally (including those words). It just happens that way. I tell people to only state or write down what they want and to leave out the things they do not want. The use of modifiers often provides mixed results, which may not be what someone wants," Rappaport claims.

And no, "But science is sooooooooo mysterious, we can't know for sure..." is not a legitimate argument. REAL science states that you DO NOT believe that something is true UNTIL it has been positively proven, NOT that you treat as if it is because "maybe." And no again, doing so is NOT "keeping an open mind" - keeping an open mind means accepting things for good reasons, not "just because." That's called "being a gullible sucker."


While there have been countless books, audiobooks, articles, television shows, and of course, blog posts, on the topic of success in life, most people still feel lost. There’s a day-to-day struggle that many simply can’t rise above, suffocating in a sea of despair, hopelessness, and lost dreams. But, there must be a way. Surely, if others can do it, we can do it too, right?
