I kept hearing about this book. I expected it to be a new age, wish on a star book. But, it was a good read. It reminded me that, at least to some extent, we do create our own reality by the attitude we project. If we are a grump, we attract other grumps, not happy persons, to us. And so on. It is a quick read, a fun read, lots of white space, easy to understand and assimilate, no high psychology words, no mumbo jumbo. Good illustrations. Definitely written for the layman. I've also seen Losier's videos and they are more of the same.
I have studied this subject matter quite diligently over the last year or so. I can honestly say that "Secrets of Success" by Sandra Anne Taylor offers ideas that will undoubtedly help you re-establish a life of blissful manifestation...and I say re-establish because we obviously all took our first breath in this state and then were quickly conditioned out of it by our teachers, parents and society. This is a book that I will definitely read more than once.
Thank so much chitownblu! You’re right that getting rid of resistance and attachment are key. Tapping works well for this. Also, remember to focus on what you want. You descussed that you’re aware your desire has not manifested. That’s living from a point of what is, not from what you want. You’re giving energy to creating more of what you don’t want by doing this. It could also be a factor in things not attracting your specific person as your vibration is closer to alignment with not being with him, than being with him.
That being said, I do believe that the ideas presented in his writing are timeless and just as relevant today as ever before. There is a reason why Mr. Thomas has been requested to speak to millions of people across the globe. I still say that the best way to benefit from all that he has to offer is to sit in an auditorium and hear him in person. Then, I recommend you read his book and revisit those key ideas he presented again and again.
But aside from setting meaningful goals and carrying out all the other steps in the secret-to-success formula, in order to stay motivated, you need to focus on developing the willpower to follow through. Find things that inspire you. Find others who’ve achieved the success that you’re after and look to emulate them. Focus on developing the right amount of willpower to see things through.
I find myself admiring these people who seem to surmount insurmountable difficulties simply by not giving up. They suffer embarrassment and sometimes humiliation, and yet they do not give up. Sometimes I see a child in school who is like that, and I know—and I tell the child’s parents-- that that child will turn out okay. I know that child will catch up, because it is the single virtue of persistence that makes for success. They don’t obtain the ability to find life in their life. Yes, ability. It’s not just a choice. It may start with a choice. But it’s a practice, a daily one, to produce nectar (joy) from what’s in front of you as you keep building and climbing. This is what keeps you positive and attracting. It’s like pedaling a bike. Once you are no longer able to produce joy with what you have, you are no longer attracting.
And this shows you are on the right path, but all too often we twist it. We lament those people that share the same interests as us, or with whom we had those great conversations, didn’t ask for our number. We feel bummed when that date we thought would be so great, turned out to be not the best match. We think we are still not getting what we want, or there is still something ‘wrong’ with us.
Ever notice how travel magazines show a beautiful destination, maybe a white sand beach and azure blue sky? And, there is always a table and empty chair. Your mind is attracted to the empty chair. It wants you to be there. Goals are the same. The law of attraction is energised by the gap between here and there. So long as it is bridgeable (see tip 21).
Whatever the success rate is of achieving goals... that's really just one of the many "LoA" side effects, not LoA itself. Duh. And it largely depends on how people go about it anyway, and we all know how good people are at understanding "LoA"... just look at your own article HAHAHAHAHAHAH (it's pretty damn funny to be honest). Most are looking for shortcuts when they set goals. That's still "LoA" btw... when they don't achieve those goals.
Your supreme focus should be on building out a step-by-step roadmap to help you achieve your goals since this is a big part of the secret to success. You should also put your effort into creating the right team to get you there. Finding a good lawyer, accountant, real estate agent, and financial advisor are just some examples of the team members we might need to ultimately succeed in business and in life.
